Job Description

This is a part-time, as needed, position and we can not guarantee income.  Duties include walking dogs, feeding and cleaning up after various animals, collecting mail, etc. You could be an infrequent lunchtime dog walker, have your own daily "route" or only work the occasional nights and weekends.  You will be caring for client’s animals/home, according to the client’s instructions, while they are away. Clients may ask you to feed/water, give some TLC/ attention, play time, yard/litter box clean-up, and perhaps assist with medication administration, and additional duties as assigned. Duties will also include distributing flyers in local neighborhoods.  You will have someone accompany you the first two to five visits before starting on your own with pet (depends on when you feel comfortable being on your own). Daily notes must be written to client each day about the pet's activities and how much fun they had with you! 

Job Requirements

• Someone who is patient and affectionate with animals.
• Have a valid driver's license and auto insurance with a dependable car.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have a working cell phone available daily for work related calls and email that you can access and check regularly.
• Experience working with dogs and animals preferred, but will train the right person.
• Must not be afraid of getting dirty and love the outdoors in year round weather conditions. We walk RAIN or SHINE.
• This position requires a good amount of walking and sometimes dog wrangling.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and be professional with clients.
• Childhood or work experience with pets required
• Willing to travel to areas in Minooka, Channahon, Morris, Shorewood, Plainfield, and Joliet
• Must have excellent communication, follow up and time management skills
• Prefer someone with a very flexible schedule
• Availability around holidays a plus.
